Spanish Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprise Pushes 400 kW Overcharging Pile
Repsol, a Spanish oil and gas company, has recently launched a charging pile with a maximum charging power of up to 400 kw, which surpasses 350 kW supercharging pile produced by Abb, a Swiss power giant, and is far larger than Tesla's third generation supercharging system (250kw). In fact, Repsol is only the operator of the super-charging pile. The new super-charging pile inverters and charging terminals are built by ingeteam, a Spanish automation engineering company, and the complete set of transformer core equipment is provided by another Spanish company, ormazabal.
The new 400 kW charging station is located in ugaldebieta, one of the busiest gas stations in Spain, with four electric piles. The charging station is also the second supercharging station in the Iberian Peninsula. The first supercharging station equipped with 350 kW power charging pile was launched in April this year. At present, Repsol has 36 charging stations in its gas stations, most of which are 40-50 kW conventional fast charging piles.
