Opening of the first academician studio in the field of petrochemicals

The studio will make full use of the high-end experts of domestic professional disciplines, focus on the research of series and high-end Functional Polyolefin new materials, and promote the way of production university research cooperation to achieve new development. At present, China's refining overcapacity, refining to chemical transformation and upgrading is the only way to promote the high-quality development of refining and chemical enterprises. In China's petrochemical business, the total output of synthetic resin and other chemical products is about 10 million tons / year.

By introducing an academician in the field of polymer chemistry, the Petrochemical Institute has built a training platform for innovative talents of high value-added synthetic resin, and carried out the development of complete set of technology for high value-added olefin conversion, which can rapidly improve the speed of high value-added material conversion and seize the strategic opportunities in the field of olefin based chemical materials in China. Yang Wantai, academician of Tsinghua University, has many successful industrialization cases and small-scale trial technology in free radical polymerization, olefin conversion into resin materials, surface modified polymer materials, etc. Through the establishment of the first academician studio in the field of petrochemicals in China, the creation of an innovation consortium, the establishment of a joint research team, starting with the solution of the urgently needed materials, the development of high-end new products, and the improvement of the speed of complete technology development of resin materials.
