You need to know about Novastar peptides
People often hear about peptides in cosmetics advertisements. It is known that peptides are an important and effective ingredient. But what exactly is a peptide? Is it the same as protein? Why is it so respected in the cosmetics industry?
What is a peptide?
Peptides are naturally-occurring short-chain amino acid monomers linked by amide bonds. Similar in structure to smaller protein molecules, it is a component of proteins. It includes a variety of hormones, antibiotics, and other similar substances that participate in biological functions of organisms.
The difference between protein and peptide
People often confuse peptides with proteins, and the two are very different. The main difference between proteins and peptides is in structure and size. Protein is larger than peptide. Generally, peptides are molecules with 2 to 50 amino acids, but proteins have more than 50 amino acids.
In addition, peptides are structurally different from proteins. The structure of proteins is more complex, such as tertiary, secondary or quaternary structure. Peptides are subdivided into oligopeptides with 2-20 amino acids and polypeptides with more than 20 amino acids. The formation of proteins requires the connection of one or more polypeptides. Therefore, the two are definitely not the same substance.
Reasons why peptides are respected
Peptides have multiple benefits. First, peptides help increase collagen production in the skin, thereby reducing wrinkles and age spots, and making the skin younger.
Peptides also have other important characteristics. These substances are known to reduce inflammation, improve immunity, kill bacteria and microorganisms, control high blood pressure, prevent blood clotting and induce faster wound healing. The demand for peptides comes from various industries such as cosmetics and medicine.
Bioactive peptide
Bioactive peptides contain two to twenty amino acids with biological effects and are molecular polymers between amino acids and proteins. Bioactive peptides have anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fat formation, and anti-oxidant properties. It has many beneficial effects on the human body and is widely used in cosmetics and health care industries.
Although peptides are a highly effective ingredient, there are many counterfeit peptide products on the market. Therefore, please verify before purchasing any products that claim to contain peptides.
