PPG Launches Quick-Ship Program for PPG SILVERSAN Powder Coating
PPG announced the launch of its quick-ship program for PPG SILVERSAN® antibacterial-protected powder coating that is specially formulated with silver ionic technology.
PPG SilverSan powder technology slowly releases silver ions, which are known to inhibit the growth of bacteria on powder-coated surfaces. Due to current high demand, PPG has committed to two-day shipping on orders of PPG SilverSan coating in the top 30 RAL colors that weigh less than 200 pounds (91 kilograms). In addition, PPG has activated five-day shipping on orders for PPG SilverSan coating in 170 alternative RAL colors or on shipments that weigh more than 200 pounds. Customers will have the option of shipments to be boxed in 25- or 50-pound (11- or 23-kilogram) packages.
The quick-ship program is possible due to PPG’s acquisition of Alpha Coating Technologies earlier this year. The powder coatings manufacturer is a wholly owned subsidiary of PPG.
“We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and providing creative solutions to meet their demands, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Shelley Verdun, PPG Powder Business Manager, Americas. “Our acquisition of Alpha Coating Technologies increases our capabilities in the powder market and allows us to be nimble, strategic and innovative to yield success for our customers.”
The special formulation of PPG SilverSan allows the inhibition of bacteria growth to remain constant even if the surface has been subjected to wear and exterior exposure. The coating displays exceptional exterior durability and provides resistance to microorganisms on the coated surface. It also offers excellent color retention, formulation of many colors in all PPG resin chemistries and high temperature stability.
Suggested end uses for PPG SilverSan coating include fitness equipment, office furniture, hospital furniture, home appliances, lighting, heating and air conditioning, building materials and laboratory equipment. The product should only be applied by professional applicators.
