ADAMA's innovative herbicide Araddo® (mettenone + isooctyl chlorofluoropyroxyacetate) is featured in Paraguay

foodmate 2022-11-21

Recently, ADAMA announced that its innovative herbicide Araddo® (mettenone + chlorofluoropyroxyacetate isooctyl ester) was registered for sale in Paraguay, and plans to expand to more markets in Latin America following the successful launch in Brazil in 2021.

In recent years, farmers in Latin America have suffered from the ravages of liquart, acid mold and beef tendon, three weeds that are spreading in agricultural areas and showing resistance to glyphosate and other herbicides. Araddo® is a pre-planting, fuel-efficient dual-mode herbicide that is effective in controlling grasses and broadleaf weeds and helping to overcome growing resistance. This innovative blend of soybean, corn and wheat crops will help farmers in Brazil and Paraguay achieve higher crop yields.

According to the head of marketing at ADAMA Brazil, Araddo® is the first product to combine ACC enzyme inhibition and Auxin weeding mode, overcoming chemical degradation between the two active ingredients. ADAMA's years of focus on innovation in cutting-edge formulation technologies enables it to differentiate its product portfolio and add value to farmers. With just one application,® farmers can effectively control grasses and broadleaf weeds, which was not possible with previous technologies.

Previously, auxin, which was commonly used, required a safe interval of 10 to 30 days between application and planting. Now, Araddo® allows farmers to spray and plant immediately, benefiting from time gains and the ability to take advantage of the best possible planting window, which in turn increases productivity.

Araddo® is smaller and more effective than existing solutions, and requires very small amounts of packaging due to its higher concentration. Araddo® has been shown to be environmentally safe for farmland and does not cause phytotoxicity to soybeans. These all contribute to the sustainability of the product. In addition, Araddo® is easy to work with and safer for farmers because only one product is compounded in the spray.

Araddo's® patented innovative formulation technology is licensed by ADAMA patents.
