Corteva registered Vessarya in Brazil for the control of soybean anthracnose
Corteva recently expressed that it has obtained registration for Vessarya (Picoxystrobin+Benzovindiflupyr), a fungicide, to control the high incidence of soybean anthracnose in Brazilian crops.
Anthrax is a disease caused by the Colletotrichum Truncatum that initially affects seeds and then spreads through wind and rain to other parts of the crop. The disease occurs more frequently in conditions of high humidity, and black or brown spots appear visually on stems, leaves or pods, affecting food production.
The product disperses with oil when applied, and has high endoscopicity and cross-layer effect, but also has less risk of rain erosion. The fungicide contains Benzovindiflupyr and uses Onmira™Active technology to protect plants and control soybean disease.
In addition to anthrax, Vessarya is effective in controlling Asian rust, powdery mildew, Cercospora sojina, and other common crop pathogens.
Corteva has perfected Vessarya's ability to fight most diseases at the end of soybean farming, in addition to cotton, corn and beans. Marcus Fiorini, Head of Cordihua Fungicides, said: "Corteva has a complete portfolio of fungicides and the fact that Vessarya is now available for anthrax control reinforces Corteva’s commitment to contribute to agricultural development through effective fungicides for soybean disease control."
