TriNutra's ThymoQuin black seed oil has obtained a European ingredient patent for its composition

Black seed oil supplier TriNutra (Harrison, NY) has announced that its ThymoQuin cold pressed black seed oil (Nigella sativa) has obtained a new European patent. The company stated that the unique cosmetics of ThymoQuin have improved the stability and bioavailability of its key active ingredient thymoquinone. According to reports, ThymoQuin is the first cold pressed black seed oil standardized to 3% thymoquinone.

The company's press release states: "Thymoquinone is a key and powerful active ingredient in Nigella sativa (black seed oil), which is unstable in the presence of oxidants such as free fatty acids. This leads to a decrease in the effectiveness and rancidity of black seed oil. Therefore, one of TriNutra's main goals is to find a standardized and stable method for its black seed oil.

The company stated that ThymoQuin can provide benefits for obese individuals with certain metabolic diseases. The new patent cites how ThymoQuin's composition can increase the expression of OPA1, MFN1, and MFN2 proteins in obese mice.

TriNutra CEO Morris Zelkha said in a press release: ”These results indicate that our standardized, cold pressed, and full spectrum black seed oil is both stable and highly bioavailable. This ingredient has been shown to improve damaged mitochondrial function related to metabolic and energy processes in mitochondria, thus potentially helping to manage metabolic status in a low dose and efficient manner. Animal studies have also shown that ThymoQuin can reduce blood sugar, LDL, and oxidized LDL, while increasing VO2 and balancing blood pressure, the company added.
