Corteva launches Novlect™ (Halauxifen-methyl + Cyhalofop-butyl) to control weeds in paddy fields in India

Corteva has launched the herbicide Novlect™ (Halauxifen-methyl + Cyhalofop-butyl) for the control of a variety of broad-leaved, grasses and difficult to control weeds in paddy fields. The unique combination of the active ingredient in Novlect™, Halauxifen-methyl (trade name Rinskor®), has proven to be highly effective for weed management, including DSR. The product has good toxicological and ecotoxicological characteristics and is beneficial to soil and environmental health.

Novlect™ 's advanced formulations are easy to handle, mix and apply, making it a unique product that works effectively in variable weather conditions and water environments. It can also control weeds that are resistant to ALS, ACCase and HPPD.

P Murali Arthanari, a weed scientist at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, highlights the challenges of weed management in DSR: "Herbicide resistance is one of the biggest problems facing rice growers in India. Novlect™ with Halauxifen-methyl will prevent the development of weed resistance and effectively control stubborn weeds such as Calygium and sedge."
