Dhanuka Agritech launches new insecticide DEFEND® (Triflumezopyrim)

 Dhanuka Agritech, one of India's leading agricultural companies, has launched a powerful new pesticide, DEFEND®, to expand its crop protection portfolio.

DEFEND® is a 10% Triflumezopyrim SC product that provides complete control over rice planthopper. Triflumezopyrim, marketed as Pyraxalt™, acts on the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) in insects and, unlike most other insecticides that act on this receptor, acts as an inhibitor of NACHR rather than an activator. After poisoning, the insect is inert, no excitement or convulsion, followed by paralysis, paralysis, until death. With just one application to rice, DEFEND® provides immediate control of the first generation of BPH and WBPH, effectively controlling the different growth stages of rice planthopper.

With the launch of new products such as DEFEND® and a strong product line, Dhanuka Agritech will expand its position in the field of plant protection products in India. In the first quarter of fiscal 2023-24, Dhanuka Agritech launched two selective herbicides, Mesotrax and Implode. Implode contains 33.6% Topramezone, which has a good control effect on narrow leaf and broad leaf weeds, and can inhibit weeds from absorbing nutrients from the soil to eradicate weeds. Mesotrax contained 2.27% Mesotrione and 22.7% Atrazine, and was effective against both narrow-leaved and broad-leaved weeds.

To diversify its product portfolio, Dhanuka Agritech has also launched BiologiQ, a unique sustainable solution that combines traditional science and new age agricultural technologies.
