DuPont Agrees to Sell 80.1% Stake in Delrin Business to TJC for $1.8 Billion
DuPont recently announced that it has reached a final agreement to sell 80.1% of its Delrin Homopolymer Polyoxymethylene (H-POM) business to private equity firm TJC for a transaction value of $1.8 billion.
DuPont expects to complete the transaction by the end of this year, at which time it will receive approximately $1.25 billion in cash and $350 million in notes, while retaining a 19.9% equity stake in the Delrin business.
As early as November 2021, DuPont announced significant strategic adjustments and the divestiture of its Transportation and Industrial (T&I) segment. DuPont aims to become a leader in areas such as electronics, water treatment, industrial technologies, protection, and next-generation vehicles.
In November 2022, DuPont announced the completion of the divestiture of most of its T&I segment businesses, selling them to Celanese Corporation for a cash transaction price of $11 billion.
In May of this year, DuPont announced a final agreement to acquire Spectrum Plastics Group for a price of $1.75 billion from AEA Investors. Spectrum primarily provides materials and technologies for specialty medical devices and components.
