Brenntag acquires chemical logistics base in Italy
Brenntag recently announced an agreement to acquire the chemical logistics base of Italian company Chimica D'Agostino. The base is located in the industrial area of Bari, connected to the Adriatic highway and with easy access to the seaside port.
The site will increase Brenntag's presence in the southern Italian market and optimize its network of sites in the region. Brenntag Essentials will serve the southern Italian market from its factory in Bari on the east coast (Adriatic) and Anagni on the west coast (Tyrrhenian).
The investment is part of Brenntag Essentials' Strategy to Win to strengthen the company's site network and expand market share, enhancing Brenntag's customer proximity and regional market position.
"The new site fits perfectly with our strategy to be the most trusted supplier with a growing range of services to our customers. The location in Bari provides the potential for further growth and supports our efforts to serve all industries." commented Ignazio Vullo, President Brenntag Essentials EMEA South.
The new site in Bari covers approximately 35,000 square meters and provides automated facilities for dilution, filling and packaging. The site includes an operating area with a tank farm/hypo tanks storage and a powder warehouse, a solvent tank farm, possibilities for Mixing & Blending, a loading/unloading area, the packed warehouse and dilution plants.
Chimica D'Agostino is an important chemicals distributor in southern Italy, operating since 1948, supplying raw materials and specialty products to several customers in key industries such as oil and gas, water treatment and other essential industries.
