Syensqo and Allozymes partner to develop bio-solutions for home and personal care
Syensqo, a Belgium-based specialty materials producer, and Allozymes, a Singapore-based enzyme engineering startup, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to leverage the two companies’ expertise in biotechnology to develop advanced bio-solutions for home and personal care, specifically targeting the skin care market.
Allozymes has developed a proprietary ultra-high throughput microfluidics platform for the engineering of enzymes and microorganisms, enabling rapid and cost-effective development of biomanufacturing ingredients and bioprocesses.
Thomas Canova, head of the Renewable Materials and Biotech Growth Platform at Syensqo, said: “By combining Allozymes’ technological capabilities with Syensqo’s application and market access expertise, we are poised to create breakthrough solutions that will not only benefit the home and personal care market, but will also help achieve a more sustainable future.”
Syensqo said the MoU marks an important milestone in its strategic agenda for the rapid expansion of its biotechnology-based beauty specialty ingredients portfolio and complements the company’s recent acquisition of Korean ceramide specialist JinYoung Bio.
"Our collaboration with Syensqo reflects our shared commitment to a sustainable future, leveraging biotechnology to enable cleaner, greener processes and ensuring our actions today create a healthier planet for future generations," said Peyman Salehian, CEO and co-founder of Allozymes. "Together, we are setting a new standard for environmental stewardship."
