IMCD Opens New Global Microbiology Laboratory in Indonesia

IMCD, a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has announced the opening of a new microbiology laboratory in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The state-of-the-art facility will play a key role in supporting global and local product development projects, providing microbiology expertise to a wide range of industries including life sciences and industrial applications, and serving customers in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

The new laboratory is equipped with advanced testing capabilities, a collection of more than 29 strains, and dedicated spaces for inoculation, incubation and analysis. Designed to perform in-depth testing on bacteria, fungi and algae, the facility helps customers improve product quality, extend shelf life and ensure the microbiological safety of their formulations.

In addition, the laboratory will be home to the IMCD Preservatives and Biocides Academy, a center of excellence where experts and customers can expand their knowledge of microbiology and preservative technology. The laboratory also provides services such as plant hygiene audits and preventive measures to ensure that the manufacturing environment is free of microbial contamination.
