Azelis acquires Haarla Oy, strengthening its presence in the Nordics
Azelis, a leading innovative services provider for the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industries, announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Haarla Oy, a Finnish specialist distributor of food ingredients and industrial chemicals.
Haarla Oy, headquartered in Tampere, Finland, has a strong position in the food ingredients market and various industrial chemicals, and its product portfolio strategically enhances Azelis' horizontal value chain, consolidating its presence in the Nordic life sciences and industrial chemicals sectors. Haarla Oy has a diversified base of more than 300 customers and long-standing business relationships with renowned customers, which complements Azelis' key partnerships in the region.
Julius Haarla, Co-Owner and CEO of Haarla Oy, commented: "We are delighted to become part of the Azelis team, which allows us to further develop our business through growth opportunities. We share common values and 'ways of operating' and we look forward to developing cross-selling activities and working with blue chip principals. Together, our activities create even better products for our customers, expanding the solutions we already offer."
Gert Schnoor, Managing Director of Azelis Nordics, added: "Haarla joining the Azelis Group is in line with our goal to strengthen our position in the markets we serve. This acquisition leverages the local expertise of the Haarla team and enables us to better serve our customers in Finland and Sweden with a broader product portfolio and innovative solutions, thus strengthening our market position in the Nordic region."
