AGC Sells 30-Year Polycarbonate Business to Sumitomo Bakelite Strategic Shift Targets Growth and Carbon Efficiency
On July 22, 2025, Japan’s AGC Inc. announced the transfer of its polycarbonate business to Sumitomo Bakelite, marking a strategic realignment in line with its “AGC plus-2026” mid-term plan. The move aims to build a more resilient, asset-efficient, and growth-oriented business portfolio, while improving carbon efficiency.
