New tropical fruit product in Sanya was officially listed in the first batch

Golden peel, sweet taste, delicate white meat... Sanya Tropical Fruit has added a new product of Pitaya fruit, Bird's Nest Fruit, which is the first batch of listed fruits of Sanya Fruit Island Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fruit Island) after more than one year of planting. The first batch of 100 mu Bird's Nest fruits can be harvested and marketed. It will become a "new weapon" to promote poverty alleviation in the industry of Yucai Ecological Zone.

In Yucai Eco-region Base of Fruit Island, 100 mu of bird's nest fruits have been fully fruited, and the neat and strong branches are covered with fist-sized yellow fruits or ripening yellow-green fruits. Zhang Mingxiang, general manager of Fruit Island Science and Technology Company, introduced that the bird's nest fruits were planted in April 2018, totaling more than 100,000 plants. The first fruit matured in April this year. 

It is reported that the bird's nest fruit planted on Fruit Island belongs to the high-end variety of Pitaya fruit. It is improved by Ecuador variety of South America. Its fruit is round and plump, with yellow skin and white meat. Compared with red skin and white meat or red skin and red meat, it has higher sweetness and ice sugar sweetness. Its flesh tastes delicate, and its entrance is very like a smooth bird's nest.

"Bird's nest fruit has very high economic value, the company will further expand the scale of planting, and promote the people of Yucai ecological area to increase income and become rich." Xu Guixi, general manager of Hainan Fruit Island Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., said that there are only a few successful cases of bird's nest fruit planting in China. Except for the base, other cities have not yet formed large-scale planting; while the market imported bird's nest fruit prices remain high, ranging from 70 yuan/kg to 120 yuan/kg. It is reported that Sanya Fruit Island Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully planted 12 kinds of pitaya fruit on a large scale at present. Besides the common red-skin Red-heart pitaya fruit and red-skin white-heart pitaya fruit on the market, there are also green-skin white-heart, red-skin Purple-heart and red-white double-color pitaya fruit, which are expected to have a bumper harvest this year.

Xu Guixi said that the company not only pays attention to the construction of sales channels of bird's nest fruit and other new varieties of Pitaya fruit, but also is willing to drive local people and industry people to share the tropical characteristics of efficient agricultural achievements, which can provide technical guidance from land preparation, erection, planting, management, lighting technology management and other aspects.
