Global Natural Rubber Production is Expected to Increase by 13.6% to 941,000 Tons in April 2022
The latest April report released by ANRPC predicts that global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 13.6% to 941,000 tons in April; natural rubber consumption is expected to increase slightly by 0.3% to 1.21 million tons.
In 2022, global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 1.8% year-on-year to 14.179 million tons. Among them, Thailand increased by 1.4%, Indonesia increased by 2.9%, China increased by 1.8%, India increased by 1.2%, Vietnam decreased by 0.4%, and Malaysia increased by 6.5%.
In 2022, global natural rubber consumption is expected to increase by 2.2% year-on-year to 14.639 million tons. Among them, China increased by 0.5%, India increased by 3.5%, Thailand increased by 11.8%, and Malaysia increased by 3.2%.
The report noted that while market fundamentals remained favorable for the natural rubber market, the industry remained heavily impacted by other external global events during the reference period.
The World Bank has cut its forecast for global economic growth in 2022 to 3.2 percent from 4.1 percent, citing uncertainty caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and a Chinese blockade that could slow the outlook for a global economic recovery.
