High incidence of rust attack in Brazil, Adama introduced Fluxapyroxad product
At the recent ExpoDIReto 2024 agricultural show in Brazil, Adama highlighted its new fungicide solution, Almada, to combat the current soybean rust disease in southern Brazil. The product is composed of three active ingredients, Fluxapyroxad, Mancozeb, Fluxapyroxad and Propiconazole, and is the only ready-to-use fungicide on the market with exclusive technology.
Southern Brazil has been hit by a severe rust epidemic due to El Nino weather. In the 2023/24 season, 103 cases of soybean rust were recorded in Rio Grande do Sul alone, with 66 cases in January and February, according to Antiferrugem. While there is no specific figure for yield loss due to soybean rust, Adama stresses that the potential loss could be as high as 90 percent, depending on the severity of the disease in the region.
Almada fungicide has been named the most effective soybean Rust control product in the Network Consortium-Rust for two consecutive years. According to its assessment, Almada can achieve a soybean yield of more than 3,400 kilograms per hectare, which is more than 2.4 bags more than the next best competitor.
In addition to their superior control effectiveness, Adama fungicides such as Almada minimize yield losses and bring higher production benefits to growers. However, good disease and insect control effects also need to follow the norms of chemical pesticide use, such as paying attention to ingredient rotation, application interval, choosing appropriate weather conditions and correctly preparing spray solutions, so as to ensure the best use effect.
