Malaysia's natural rubber production increases

On September 14, the Malaysian Bureau of Statistics released a report stating that the country’s total output of monitored natural rubber in July was 47,473 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.6% and a month-on-month increase of 22.3%. Among them, small garden plantations accounted for 89%, and state-owned plantations accounted for 11%. The country's natural rubber production continued to increase year-on-month.

 

In July, the import and export volume of natural rubber in Malaysia also increased year-on-month. The country's export volume increased by 7.2% year-on-year to approximately 49,000 tons, a slight increase of 0.1% from the previous month. Among them, 44.6% were exported to China. Natural rubber imports in July were approximately 89,000 tons, an increase of 23.5% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of 5.7%. Standard rubber, concentrated latex, and other shapes of natural rubber are the main import categories, and the main import sources are Thailand, Côte d’Ivoire, the Philippines, Myanmar, etc. In addition, Malaysia's natural rubber inventory exceeded 280,000 tons in July, an increase of 16% month-on-month and 19.4% year-on-year.

 

However, the total domestic natural rubber consumption in Malaysia in July fell by 43.3% year-on-year to about 2.7 tons, a decrease of 23.4% from the previous month. The latex glove industry is still the main force in Malaysia's natural rubber consumption.
