Singapore adjusts import restrictions on poultry products from areas affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks in Denmark

foodmate 2023-01-11

On January 9, 2023, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced that temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and their products near the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Denmark have been imposed.

Due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in the Danish cities of Loeland and Hezensteiz, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and their products from the cities of Loeland and Hezensteidz. Heat-treated poultry products that meet the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) avian influenza virus inactivation requirements will not be affected by import restrictions.

Poultry products exported from Lohland city before 22 December 2022 and slaughtered before 8 December 2022 will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Hezensteitz before 1 January 2023 and slaughtered before 18 December 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.

In addition, it is understood that on November 23, 2022, Singapore imposed temporary import restrictions on poultry and their products in areas affected by the H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza epidemic in Slouerser, Denmark.

At present, the epidemic situation in the region has been resolved, and the Singapore Food Board said that the above import restrictions have been lifted.
